Foodster is about the stories behind food – about history, culture and people.
I take a food or dish and tell its story, or part of it. Since people started moving – to the next village, or to the other side of the world – foods have travelled with them, melding with local foods or sparking whole new cuisines.
For me, it’s this backdrop to food that makes eating even more interesting.
Foodster includes links to recipes where relevant, and, because I am based in Auckland, New Zealand, there are suggestions of where to buy ingredients and where to sample dishes here.
My background is in journalism and marketing; food writing is a new frontier for me.
